Troublesome fuel sending unit

Dropped the tank and pulled out the sending unit to find moderate levels of polymerization. The strainer basket rubs against the bottom of the tank parts of the basket are breaking off and getting in the line.
Here is a couple of pictures before cleaning.

I searched local sources for a mesh strainer screen. Ordered a sheet of stainless steel Corrosion-Resistant Type 304 SS Wire Cloth 40 X 40 Mesh, .0085" Wire Diameter, 12" X 12" Sheet from McMaster-carr. The part number is 85385T201. Cost is $9.92.

The plan is to zip tie the mesh cloth around the base of the sending unit and clip whats left of the old sending unit over that.

Dropped the fuel tank to fix the troublesome fuel level sender that has plagued many Ram Owners.

Changing vegetable oil plans

Recently returning home after 13 months away for military service. This time has given me a period to reflect. There are several changes I am going to implement.

For the Dodge:
Add a looped return and a third three way valve. This will put both filters on the pressure side. I will have to change the current vegetable oil filter as it is supposed to operate on the vacuum side. It will be plumbed exactly like sunwizard's but the valves will be electronic. A link to the diagram is below scroll down 3/4's of the way.

Filter / De watering and Collection of waste vegetable oil.
Going to add the cold up-flow technique and a centrifuge.
