Centrifuge

Centrifuge installation has taken a couple of days so far. It's a fun project rummaging around the house looking for scrape material to use for brackets etc. The fabrication does take time.

The used Acura power steering pump that I bought with the new Dieselcraft OC-20 Centrifuge off of Craigslist came with a serpentine belt pulley.



Attempts to remove the pulley proved futile. The nut stripped but would not come off the pulley. If you can't beat them join them. So I took a Ford pulley that had been laying around and drilled it out to clear the stripped bolt.





Then with the help of some friends I welded the ford pulley to the Acura pulley.

Centrifuge

I have Droid phone and one of the applications will ping you when a new item you are searching for pops up on craigslist. Yesterday a Dieselcraft centrifuge and Acura power steering pump popped up. I picked up the new never installed unit for $100 dollars less than the $300 unit with the external pump that is required. This is a new project. Went to Harbor freight with my %20 coupon and got a 1/2 HP electric motor to power the Acura power steering pump. Now I have to get a pully, connections, and fabricate everything together. Also picked up a pressure washer to clean everything.
